Text Search dialog box (Windows Explorer)

This lets you specify your search parameters.

Text

Enter your search string here. The string is treated as a regular expression if the Regular Expression option on General options is selected. Previous search strings can be retrieved from the history list. The maximum string length is 512 characters.

File Spec.

Enter your file specification here. You can use any wildcards in your specification and you can use more than one specification if it is separated by a space. If your file specification contains a space it should be enclosed in double quotes. Previous file specifications can be retrieved from the history list.

Examples

readme.txt	Search readme.txt
.	Search all files
.txt .doc	Search all files with the .txt and .doc extension.
"read me.txt" *.doc	Search read me.txt and all files with the .doc extension

Starts your search.

Save

Saves your search parameters to file with the Save Search Parameters dialog box.
